The VANS team has set ambitious sustainability goals. All their efforts, large and small, add up to a global effort to create positive change. To be eligible to display the VR3 Checkerboard Globe logo, at least 30% of the product must be made from recycled, renewable, or regenerative materials, or a combination of these.

UPPER MATERIAL: This model is made from a blend of 100% recycled PET synthetic fabric and leather sourced from farms that employ regenerative land management practices designed to promote biodiversity, improve water cycles and soil health, and sequester carbon dioxide. Vans leather products support responsible manufacturing through the Leather Working Group.
INSOLE: The new VR3Cush™ midsole is made with at least 50% bio-based EVA foam, partially derived from plant-based sources, according to the ASTM D6866-16 standard test method.
OUTSOLE: All rubber used in the VR3Waffle™ outsole (60% of the compound) is natural, regeneratively farmed, and sourced from farms that use agricultural practices designed to promote biodiversity, improve water cycles and soil health, and/or sequester carbon dioxide. This natural rubber compound has been developed and designed to maintain the grip and durability that Vans has known for since 1966.
